Three generations of parkrunners

07/07/18

UPDATE Official parkrun write-up of the event here.

We drove to Bushy at 7:30am this morning so my dad could participate in the 2nd annual Octogenarian parkrun celebration.

Despite having run for nearly 40 years, this was his first parkrun, so what better way to start than at the home of parkrun with 37 other octogenarians! They celebrated at the finish with well-deserved champagne & cakes.

Harry also did outstandingly, coming first in his age category, and 10th out of 58 under 14s!

Leaside Rd leaderboard

22/01/18

I’ve been doing quite a lot of running recently, building up to the Paris Marathon in April. Today I reached first place on a Strava segment!

Admittedly it was for a segment I created last night – a short, steep climb up from the River Lea in Clapton – so the previous runners didn’t even know they were racing against me… but still it’s quite exciting seeing my name in first place!

Lily’s graduation

21/07/16

A quick clip of Lily’s year 6 teacher presenting her graduation certificate and gift bag.

After school they got changed into their party clothes and had a farewell party in the school’s quiet garden. Lily’s had an amazing 3 years at Shacklewell and I think she’ll miss it, but she’s also really looking forward to starting secondary school!
