Tobi’s moment of fame

08/09/20

Back before the lockdown Tobi posed for a photo to audition for a mosaic portrait to be made by participants at the fabulous Hackney Mosaic Project in Hackney Downs park.

Hackney Mosaic Project aims to help people with addiction and mental health problems, while at the same time creating beautiful public art.

The project does not just make colourful pictures out of broken tiles – it also helps to piece back broken lives. It builds a supportive community by bringing people together around a shared vision.

I saw the work in progress in spring and it looked fantastic

Then everything shut down and I wondered how long it would be until I saw it up on the wall…

Well, several months later, today was the day!

Thanks to the talented mosaic makers & Tessa Hunkin for organising this long-running community project which is well worth supporting!
